St Egwin’s C.E. Middle School is sat in beautiful grounds on the outskirts of Evesham. We have 450 pupils on roll across the 3 years [Yr6, Yr7 & Yr8] and are full with waiting lists. Our children are highly teachable and enthusiastic. This is a great time to join our team. Our priority is to create an environment where staff can teach to their potential.
Main Purpose:
Protecting the welfare of our young people is at the heart of everything we do and we are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our Senior Leadership Team as an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Safeguarding (including Welfare & Attendance), who will oversee and drive forward this provision at St Egwin’s CE Middle School.
The DSL will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school (including online safety) ensuring policies and procedures are compliant with national guidance (KCSIE 2022 Annex C), under the direction of the Headteacher. They will take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings on all safeguarding, welfare and attendance issues that fall under their remit.
They will advise and support other members of staff on child welfare, safeguarding and child protection matters, and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police.
Some safeguarding activities may be delegated to the large existing team of Deputy DSLs, but although the DSL will line-manage this, they will retain ultimate lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection.
The successful candidate will also be required to undertake the role of Subject Lead for RE
