Careers at St Egwin's

The Careers strategy is led by Mr Wood (Assistant Headteacher) and Mrs Croft (Head of PSHCE).

Whilst we have leaders of careers, we operate a coordinated approach, combining many aspects of school life to ensure all pupils gain a variety of experiences. We are weaving a tapestry of opportunities for the pupils to participate in through their school journey at St Egwin’s. The foundations at St Egwin’s have the intention of broadening and heightening the pupil’s awareness of the numerous opportunities open to them.

The Gatsby Benchmarks are a series of national standards aimed at ensuring pupils are exposed to a high quality careers experience. We are proud of the Gatsby feedback that we receive and subsequently we seek to ensure that Gatsby Benchmarks are embedded into all curricula areas; in subject lessons,  school trips, visits, and visitors, with an overarching approach through PSHCE lessons.

Character building and resilience development add to the many strands in our role of developing young adults ready for life after school. We see it as our moral purpose to not just prepare pupils for the next stage of their education, but also to prepare them for their future, whatever direction that may be.
